Update on Bedroom Colors
Earlier, on a previous post, I listed some information on our plans for the color scheme of our bedroom. We wanted to get away from the orange/yellow textured walls to something bolder. Of course, we're not finished yet, but you can see our progress so far.
Go to StarCraft class
I thought that this was great for all of those people who wished that gaming would become more than just something kids did at home instead of homework.
What if it WAS your homework??
Take a look at this article and this article about the college course started for the PC game, StarCraft.
Aside from sounding great, one comment may shed a little light on the reality of a gamer's dream.
Aeralindor states,
As someone who has taken these DECal courses (Democratic Education in Cal) before, it's not a "real" class. It's run by students and while you do get credit, it's general education credit (usually 1-2 units) and it's basically used as filler. I'll admit that two of the most interesting classes I took while I was a student at Cal (Fencing and History of Punk Rock) were DECals, they aren't taught by professors or even graduate students, and I wouldn't consider it an "offical" class.
That all being said, those taking the class should have a great time for those 1-2 units they're getting

Sick Baby Girl
It after 3am and I'm still awake. Bekah has been sick and awake most of the night.
She's so hungry and thirsty but can't keep anything down. She also has a fever.
So now we're laying in our freshly recolored bedroom watching Beauty and the Beast.
Maybe she'll fall asleep soon.
Tattle Tell
I tried to take some of Bekah's french fries today during lunch. She usually shares.
But this time, she said "No, no". Then she looked towards the hallway and said "Mama, mama!"
She was tattling on me!
Psych Quote of the Moment
Upon visiting the fire house to investigate a possible arson crime, Shawn and Gus dress in fire gear, slide down the pole, interview the firemen while training, and practice CPR. Gus is especially happy to be involved with the fire house. They even get to go to the scene of a fire.
After all this, Gus is upset because he hasn't seen a dalmatian dog the entire time that they've been at the fire station.
[Gus] I'm just saying, it'd be nice to see them in their natural environment.
[Shawn] They're not indigenous to fire houses, Gus.
I just thought it was funny.
New Bedroom Colors
We're working on repainting our bedroom. I'll be in Magnolia for the weekend working around my parents house and yard while Amanda and her mom work on the paint for the bedroom. The general inspiration will be around the included photo. What do you think?
We painted the room when we first moved in. And it was more in the textured yellow/orange palette.
If anyone wants to help us out with ideas for the room, feel free to post.
New Flickr Uploadr
Flickr just released an update to their uploading program, Flickr Uploadr 3.1.3. The new version supports uploading of video as well as photos. You can also upload complete folders. This program makes uploading and organizing you photos easy. You tag and edit the titles and descriptions all from the Uploadr. You even add them into the sets that they need to belong to. It's much faster than changing this information on the Flickr website. Or, if you just want to upload a ton of pictures as you walk about the door, you can do it. And then edit them later.
You can download the new version at http://www.flickr.com/tools/ or directly from the following links:
Windows Vista and XP: Download (12MB)
Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.4: Download (20MB)
Edit 12:32 pm: I've already found a small possible bug in the account switcher list. But it's nothing that actually affects the use of the program. It's mainly with aesthetics of the drop-down account names. It labels one of my accounts twice.
WoW Raid Tonight
I finally found some time to make it through a raid. The is the second raid that I've been in that actually finished. The first being I was never able to enjoy the Level 70 "end-game". I wasn't there long enough before Wrath of the Lich King came out. So I never geared up.
But now that I'm 80, I want to experience everything that I missed. And now do 80 "end-game" stuff as well.
We ran Karazhan in Deadwind Pass tonight. It's a level 70 raid. But I felt that it was ok for me to run since I had never seen it before.
The first interesting thing about this one so far was the stage and play that was put on. On my first run attempt with a group, the play was Romeo and Juliet. This time it was Little Red Riding Hood. I think the other one it could be is The Wizard of Oz. Curious about that one.
The second, and probably my favorite, feature of Karazhan is the chess game. At first I was confused. But then, once I knew what to do, I had a blast. We failed the first time. But I can't say that I helped much since I wasn't sure how to control my piece (along with others who hadn't been there). And worse then that, they wanted me to play the King piece. If only they had known listened.
I didn't pick up much as far as gear, but I did get plenty of reputation with The Violet Eye.
And the achievement.
