Blekko
I was doing some web surfing this morning while reading the news… just to see what was happening around the net.
I use StumbleUpon often during my “web surfing” sessions. It allows me to jump to websites that may be interesting to me. I can get caught up for hours looking around using StumbleUpon.
But this time I was just surfing the web via Google. Just clicking links and traveling. In my search I crossed upon a site called Blekko. It appears to be a new search engine environment like Google. It is in beta. But I was able to find some uncluttered search using it.
I love Google. Don’t get me wrong. They have great apps and tools and service. But the advertising that allows it to fund “progress” has also started to clutter up every page you go to. Either an ad that gets Google some money, or some ads placed on the site owners to try to get Pay-per-click funds rolling in.
Check out Blekko if you like. I thought it was interesting. I will be watching that site over the next while.
