I went on a search today to find a way to backup my photos that I've stored on Flickr.

I started using Flickr a in 2006 to store all of my photos online so I could easily search and find any of my photographs from any internet-accessible computer.

Since then, we have seen prices drop and make laptops and mobile devices like the iPhone and Android more available to consumers. We've also seen better service use of Wi-Fi, 3G, and 4G.

My Flickr account is now wonderful and at my fingertips.

But what would happen if I lost this connection? What if I needed them and did not have these technological comforts to get me to my photos? Or what is a catastrophe occurred and somehow the Flickr servers exploded (in theory)?

My thought actually falls to the fact that I am responsible for my own property, and not a company that I know (and trust) because of the internet and what they wrote on a Terms of Service Agreement.

In short, back up my photos so I don't get upset one day down the road.

Flickr just released an update to their uploading program, Flickr Uploadr 3.1.3. The new version supports uploading of video as well as photos. You can also upload complete folders. This program makes uploading and organizing you photos easy. You tag and edit the titles and descriptions all from the Uploadr. You even add them into the sets that they need to belong to. It's much faster than changing this information on the Flickr website. Or, if you just want to upload a ton of pictures as you walk about the door, you can do it. And then edit them later.

You can download the new version at http://www.flickr.com/tools/ or directly from the following links:

Edit 12:32 pm: I've already found a small possible bug in the account switcher list. But it's nothing that actually affects the use of the program. It's mainly with aesthetics of the drop-down account names. It labels one of my accounts twice.
