Telemarketing

I don't like telemarketers. I don't understand why they think that I'm going to buy, give to, or do whatever they're wanting me to buy, give to, or do. People say that the reason telemarketing is such a popular waste of MY time... is because so many people actually DO buy, give to, or do. Seriously.  Just stop making telemarketing work... and telemarketing will stop... right?
Oh... but that would be too easy.

Here's a funny one. Today I received a phone call. Now, I have caller ID - but sometimes that doesn't help. My wife's work number is marked as "OUT OF AREA"... so I find myself answering that a lot. So I picked up the phone and saw "OUT OF AREA" and proceeded to answer.

All of a sudden there was this coughing noise in my ear. I heard someone try to talk... and then cough... and then say excuse me... and then cough. I put my finger over the voice holes in the phone. Finally she quit coughing and said "hello"... "hello?" ... "hello?"

Then she just said half of the phone number they were at and hung up.

Seriously: if you're going to call me... cough first - THEN dial.
